Basketball: A Universal Sport

This past weekend teams from various regions of Spain gathered together in appreciation of a universal love: basketball. Six teams started this tournament, including two teams comprised of ESDES students, but only one came out the victor. The tournament, started Saturday night and ended on Sunday morning. The tournament also included a three point contest won by ESDES’ own Thomas “Tre-dogg” Garza.

By late Sunday morning only two teams remained, including one team from ESDES coached by Juan “Running Man” Hidalgo. Although both teams torched all other teams in games previous, the Championship  game was a hard fought, intense match, that included many controversial calls. In the end, a team from nearby Castellón came out the victor by a small margin of five points.

It was a memorable weekend for players and fans, and the friendships that were made this weekend will not soon be forgotten!!!
